Sinha killed after learning of OC Pradeep's illegal activities

RAB investigation officer Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Khairul Islam filed the chargesheet in the Rashed Khan murder case. Major (Retd.) Sinha was shot dead by police at Baharchhara outpost on Marine Drive Road in Cox's Bazar on July 31. Rashed Khan. The police filed three cases in Teknaf and Ramu police stations. Ashik Billah said that RAB has investigated the case with impartiality and professionalism. The investigating officer took 4 months and 10 days to complete his work. Five people have been accused in this. Among them were 9 dismissed policemen of Teknaf police station, 3 members of APBN and 3 civilians. Fourteen of the accused are in jail. One is still a fugitive. Twelve of the accused have pleaded guilty and given confessional statements in court. Dismissed officers Pradeep Das and Rubel Sharma did not testify. Investigators have taken the testimony of 63 witnesses. Apart from this, he has also reviewed various types of signs and digital content.

Asked when and why the plot was hatched, Ashik Billah told reporters that the plot was in mid-July. Sinha said. Rashed was a friend. Went to Teknaf as part of launching his YouTube channel. The locals soon became friends with him. He can know about the torture of Pradeep Kumar Das on the people of Teknaf. There is also evidence of involvement in the yaba pill trade. He gathered some information which, if disclosed, could have put Pradeep Kumar Das in a crisis of existence. On the basis of all this, he went to Teknaf police station to interview Pradeep Kumar Das. At that time, Pradeep Kumar Das told them to refrain from such activities and directly threatened them. But Sinha wants to continue his work. Later, he had a meeting with Sub-Inspector Liaquat and three informants at Pradeep police station. Pradeep also instructed to finalize the murder plan.

RAB says, last July 31 at 9:25 pm Sinha said. Rashed Khan was shot. On hearing the news, Pradeep Kumar Das came to the spot and confirmed Sinha's death. He was taken to the hospital. The other accused present at the scene staged a drama to divert the whole murder.

Sinha said. What exactly was the information on Rashed Khan's digital device? Asked if the investigating officer had examined them, Ashiq Billah said there was no need to examine them. Sinha said. Asked if there was any evidence that Rashed had gone to the police station with his colleagues, Ashiq Billah said no footage of the Teknaf police station could be found due to technical faults.

Regarding the role of the then Superintendent of Police Masud Hossain, the investigating officer said that it was an unprofessional arrangement not to visit the spot and take necessary action even after the incident. He recommended taking departmental action in this regard.

Asked what the police did in Teknaf, Ashiq Billah said, "Every incident is different." They have investigated a specific criminal case. Earlier, Teknaf Municipal Councilor Ekramul Haque was shot dead by RAB, his wife said. He presented information and evidence in this regard at the press conference. Asked whether RAB had investigated the case, Ashiq Billah gave the same answer. He said the press conference was about Sinha's assassination.
